Welcome to Impress Your Kids! We are Amanda and Leigh, two sahms who just want their kids to think we are the coolest thing since TIVO. Actually, we’re just two moms who want to impress God’s Word on their kids. We try to do so by using crafts, stories, activities and anything else we can think of. And because we’re addicted to the internet, we blog about it.
This is really a blog to keep us accountable to teaching our kids and to help each other be more creative. So, if you need some creative, crafty ideas, stick around and see what we’ve got going on!
NOW. ONTO THE FREE STUFF!!
We’re giving away two of our favorite things—
First, is The Jesus Storybook Bible by Sally Lloyd Jones. This is THE best Bible story book to help you plant God’s Word in your kiddo’s heart. Most kids’ Bibles are watered down cartoon versions of Bible Stories. NOT this book. Each story, humorously told and beautifully illustrated “whispers” Jesus’ name. (For more info, I wrote a big review of it here.) Believe me, you will LOVE this book.

The second part of our giveaway is a BUCKET O’ CRAFTS (ok, it might not be a bucket…). That’s right, a big pile of the finest construction paper, pipe cleaners, pom poms and lots of other stuff you’ll need to have a crafty time with your kids (and hey, even do some of the crafts you see here on Impress Your Kids).
Sound good? So to win the book AND the bucket o’ crafts all you need to do is leave a comment. It can be any comment (but comments that sound like you read our post and/or browsed our blog are especially appreciated!). If you subscribe to our feed, leave another comment and you’ll get a second entry. If you grab our little Impress Your Kids button (it’s the green one on the top of our sidebar) and post it somewhere on your blog you can get a third entry!
Make sure you leave a valid email address and that you live in the US or Canada, too. We’ll announce our winner on Friday! Thanks to Bloggy Giveaways for hosting all these fun giveaways!
(ps–we’ve got giveaways going on on our own blogs, too. Click on our names below to check them out!)

This is a great idea! My two year old loves doing “art projects” with Mimi and this would give them a chance to really spend some quality time together. He is starting to understand more about Christianity, so the Storybook Bible would definitely help us to convey those messages. Thanks for the giveaway! Check mine out too at http://20bucks4charity.blogspot.com

Wow, how did I miss that you had this blog here? I love it! And the giveaways are really neat, too. You know we love crafts here. And the Bible is something I’ve been looking for! I agree that most others are just watered down versions of the stories in the Bible.
I’ve now subscribed to this blog, so I don’t miss anymore cool stuff!
And added your button to my blog!
October 27, 2008 at 1:02 pm

(He’s only six months, but still!) I would love to win this to add to my craft collection for when my nieces and nephews come over to play (I have 17!).

I’ve heard so many great things about the Bible Storybook. Thanks.
October 30, 2008 at 1:49 am
Oh, I hope that, in God’s providence, that I win this one. The crafts excite me since I’m an art teacher to preschoolers and early elementary students in a school with no art budget…but the book is what I really really really want. I’ve had this book on my Amazon wishlist for a long time but decided last year to purchase THE BIG PICTURE STORYBOOK BIBLE instead. My son has loved that book but we want this book now since he’s older and his reading skills are developing. Plus, we are members in the PCA and would love to support the PCA author. Thanks!

My 4 yr. old just started a Baptist preschool and is learning all about God and Jesus (I’ve tried to teach her but she would rather listen to any one but mommy) and it’s all she talks about. We were in the car the other day and she said, “Mommy, you are going to be so happy in heaven!” I just thought that was the sweetest thing ever. I thouhgt I would just tell you a little about the little girl that would get the book if we were lucky enough to win. Thank you!

What an awesome looking Bible story book. we’ve also searched for Bible story books for our family devotion time at night with our kids and have found many to be watered down versions. What a great reminder for today that I need to impress my kids with what is truly lasting rather than getting through my day. Thank you!
October 31, 2008 at 9:44 am
I love the “T” day. And the tree with the real leaves. It also made me feel good to see all that scripture and just to know that you are making a big impact in your children’s lives. To God Be the Glory!
I would love to win the Bible book to start teaching my 17-mo old daughter. It’s never to early to start.
